MISTRA Future Fashion project (2011 – 2015)
TED /Chelsea College of Art & Design, UAL
Funded by MISTRA Sweden

This PhD project will explore emerging design practices within the textile/fashion lifecycle,  when designers consider and design for positive social impact. The project has been developed from the TED’s TEN strategies, the central tool/method being used within the MISTRA Future Fashion project (MiFuFa).

With potential access to fashion companies in Sweden through MiFuFa, and other industry partners, this project will attempt several ‘design interventions’ in the lifecycle, to reconfigure waste as an asset, to build in a framework for social impacts/benefits and to explore new roles for fashion/textile designers.
